..CERAMIK Justyna Łodzińska..

Recently I found out that one of my colleague's has a sister who makes beautiful ceramics. So I asked him if he could bring me some plates when he went back home to Poland so I can share them as gifts with friends. I especially liked these plates that have doilies imprinted in them which creates a nice three dimensional effect.

Justyna Łodzińska has a website, which only is in Polish unfortunately, which is a hard language to understand as a foreigner. But I am sure you can contact her for information. Because these plates can't go unnoticed!

..Boys..Room..

Our boys room, they are sharing a room, is already in need for some changes.

Even big changes, every boy a room of their own is the question?

So we are contemplating who to sleep and play where.

I have been trying out pinterest to get some images together for the rooms.

..brooch collection by CASASderooij..

I like brooches so much that I have been thinking about making my own collection. In the last months I have been busy making my accessory collection for my Etsy shop CASASderooij. Finally I have been able to set up shop!

My brooches are of wood and hand embroidered. I like to them to have simple forms with some pop of colour. From Dutch canalhouses to flowers.My dear friend photographer Inger Hollebeek was kind enough to make beautiful pictures of the brooches. All items are now available in the Etsy shop.

.. Brazil inside out..

I have fond memories of a trip to Brazil. Next to the hospitality of its people it was one month long full of nature, cities, modern architecture and history. The two architectural highlights were the Casa de Canoas of Oscar Niemeyer in Rio de Janeiro and all the work of Lina Bo Bardi. What I like especially is the relation of houses inside to outside.

Recently I came across the work of Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan. His office MK27 made a beachhouse and house V4 where inside is outside. Probably not for the Dutch climate, but these are my dream houses.

.. At home in London..

My friends in London have a classic house with a modern extension done by architect Dalriva. Their interior is amazing. Its modern white and greys but with pops of orange and a very seventies vintage feel to it. I love the big rubber foot sculpture they have in their kitchen. In their company Harrow and Green they sell tea towels that fit right in with their style, like this milk and sugar tea towel hanging at the stove. I wish I had a house like this, I am glad they let me stay with them sometimes.

..Dream House..

My dear friend Raquel Vela, landscape architect, illustrator and mother, lives in one of the Eixample houses in Barcelona. A typical apartment in the grid of Cerdá. It stretches from the front facade to the back and has these long views in the house, beautiful tiled floors and its Catalan structural bowed ceiling. She has such a comfortable place with great casual style. I love her workplace with all the posters she collected and the wooden furniture which shows some of her art work, of which I will show more when she has her own website up and running. This is definitely one of my dream houses.

..Nina Chakrabarti..

The V&A has prints, limited editions signed and numbered, from young artists for sale in their shop.

When I was there I bought this colourful print by Nina Chakrabarti. She is from India but studied illustration in London and now lives in London. She is well know for her drawings. Her website is full of her beautiful work.

My print is the best one of course. It is one of these art pieces that you just fall in love with.The vivid colours in this very graphic print are stunning and they brighten up my room.
