Some sun in autumn so wearing my architecture skirt by Desigual today

The walls in our house are predominantly white. White because I am afraid to hang something from them. But this weekend something changed. We hung limited edition artwork in our bedroom that I acquired in the V&A museum shop. Our hallway is now gracing a vintage advertisement hanging of Cordoniu Cava from the old shop of our Catalan uncle. But our living room is still missing something…

Recently I came across these stunning fashion photos by Dutch runway photographer Peter Stigter. He has set up a website Peter Stigter aan de muur where he sells some of his photos of which the proceeds go to help people that are blind or visually impaired. I think I found my match for the living room. Now the difficulty will be which one to choose more abstract or baroque …

.. Me reminiscing ..

I started modeling 25 years ago ( what happened ?) until it was time to start challenging myself intellectually and pursue my dream of Architecture. What a great time because next to school, I started at 15, it was a fabulous way to travel, be independent and get to live with Eileen Ford in New York, plus in the end it paid for university. Let me spare you the cheesy catalog pictures but I will show you the ones that are special to me.

..Brooche Heaven..

I am a very happy girl. This gorgeous brooch was given to me by my brother and his girlfriend. The designer is Lenneke Wispelwey. She makes all kinds of porcelain items, vases, buttons. The designs have a very geometrical basis and with soft colours. She feels like her work should make people smile. It does.

..Autumn..In..Orla..Kiely..

Ever since I laid my eyes on the classic stem print of Orla Kiely I am in LOVE. Her prints and choice of colour are so beautiful and with such simplicity. With autumn almost arriving I like these pieces from her autumn collection, the midnight coat, the stem punched Ivy bag with its matching wallet of course.

..Urban..Button..

My son the explorer, he likes to climb trees, found this urban plan button at the special Swanmarket in Rotterdam. They were selling all these handmade products and this one certainly is cute. It is by studiosterk and we both like the urban print fabric ( it says island). Now we just have to decide on which garment he wants it sown on.

Oscar de la Renta 2012 Resort wear has great patterns, very graphic. Especially the blue dress is a favourite.
Although I won’t be going to any resort soon, for a trip to Barcelona this dresses will also do.
Lately patterns are hot. Not only in fashion but also in architecture and in graphic design.
You can’t keep your eyes of a beautiful pattern.
